1. Brown Fused Alumina is used for sandblasting in shipyards
Brown Fused Alumina has been used for sandblasting in shipyards for quite some time. However, it is understood that some shipyards are now researching technologies to replace it with other abrasives, and have proposed using steel shot or grit/peening technology to remove oxide scale and rust on the surface of steel plates. The plan of spraying the primer through the spraying workshop is mainly to protect the steel plate from rusting during the construction of the ship. The increase in the number of shipbuilding has also increased the number and size of sections. Nowadays, the sectioned tile spraying rooms of various factories can no longer meet the requirements of secondary rust removal. Therefore, more and more manufacturers have begun to use outdoor copper slag spraying technology.

2. Brown Fused Alumina is used for painting work in shipyards
People in shipyards should all know that Brown Fused Alumina is mainly used for the coating of ships. In the past, the painting work of ships was mainly done by hand. There are two ways: hand painting and roller painting. Conditional shipyards use air spraying, which uses various series of spray pumps for painting. This method not only meets the requirements of various marine coatings, but also improves the quality and efficiency of coatings.

3. Brown Fused Alumina is used for Marine coatings
At the beginning of the coating, only tung oil was used on wooden boats to prevent contamination and rot. Since the construction of steel boats, it has evolved to use different kinds of paints, which are applied according to the different requirements of different parts of the boat. Marine coatings are divided into dozens of marine anti-rust paints, shop primers, bottom anti-fouling paints, waterline paints, hull paints, deck paints and tank paints. Marine anti-rust paint is widely used.

4. Brown Fused Alumina is used for Cathodic Protection
In addition to coating protection, the hull is also protected by cathodic protection, including sacrificial anode protection and impressed current protection. From the 1950s to the early 1960s, magnesium and magnesium alloy anodes and pure zinc sacrificial anodes were mainly used. Beginning in 1965, aluminum and cadmium were added to zinc to form zinc-aluminum-cadmium ternary zinc anodes. The ternary zinc anode has fine particles, uniform zinc dissolution, and loose corrosion products. It is widely used in various ships and offshore facilities. The aluminum alloy sacrificial anode developed in the 1960s has the advantages of light weight, large electric capacity, abundant raw material sources, low price, good conditions for smelting ternary zinc, and convenient construction and installation. It has been widely used.

Nowdays, one challenge we face is the cheap cost of Copper Slag,Steel Cut etc. These cheaper materials are more and more used in shipyards and ship manufactures.
