Refractory materials that use high-speed airflow as a carrier for spraying construction are called refractory spraying coatings. It includes gunning materials for repairing damaged lining and spraying coatings for constructing new lining. Because the injection construction does not need to erect the template, so this kind of construction method is called formless construction method, which is characterized by labor saving and fast construction speed.
Refractory spray coatings can be divided into two categories based on the state of the sprayed material on the repaired lining:
1. Cold material injection method;
The cold material spraying method relies on water-based cement to make refractory materials adhere to the sprayed lining body.
2. Molten material injection method.
The molten material injection method relies on high-temperature flames or plasma arcs obtained from combustible gas combustion to melt or semi melt refractory materials and spray them onto the sprayed lining.
In the past two to three decades, refractory spraying coatings have undergone rapid development, and have now evolved from early slurry method, dry spraying method, and semi wet spraying method to wet spraying method and new flame spraying method. The wet spraying method has been widely promoted and applied, with the main characteristics of not producing dust during construction, improving the working environment, reducing rebound during spraying construction, and saving raw materials.
