Chromium corundum(Pink Fused Alumina, Pink Fused Aluminium Oxide, Chromium Aluminum Oxide) is a pink / rose abrasive made of high purity alumina and proper amount of chromium oxide in arc furnace. The content of alumina (AL2O3) is more than 98%, and there are about 0.7% chromium oxide (Cr2O3) and 0.3% Na2O. Chromium corundum is a kind of excellent abrasive with wide application because of its high hardness, good toughness, good self-sharpness, high cutting finish, low magnetic content, concentrated particle size and pure content. Compared with white corundum, chromium corundum has better hardness and smoother section. It can be used to manufacture ceramic grinding wheel, resin grinding wheel, cutting piece, special-shaped grinding wheel, grinding head and other consolidation grinding tools, and can also be used for free grinding purposes such as sandblasting, polishing, grinding and so on. It can also be used as refractory to make chromium corundum refractory brick and other uncertain refractory.

Chromium corundum is the best choice for cupola lining. The melting furnace temperature of cupola is 1450 ≤ 1500 ℃, the burning loss of silicon is less than 8%, the burning loss of manganese is less than 13%, the ratio of coke to iron is 1 ≤ 7 ≤ 9, and the content of iron oxide is less than 6%. It also has the characteristics of good energy saving effect.

In practice, ordinary refractory bricks and refractory materials are used to build the cupola, and after 50 kg of iron is started, the temperature of the molten iron can reach more than 1410 DEG C, and the half hour can reach 1450-1550 DEG C. However, when the furnace is opened for 1 hour and 50 minutes, the temperature will also drop to about 1410 & deg; C. The second day, the furnace was opened to find that the refractory material in the vicinity of the two exhaust ports is completely eroded, and the cashie furnace becomes a direct-cylinder cupola furnace, so that the advantages of the furnace lining are lost, and the refractory material of the furnace lining must be solved.

Chromium corundum is a product made by reducing Cr2O3 with pure aluminum. it is equivalent to a composite refractory made of pure corundum (or white corundum) melted by adding more than 10% pure cr2o3.
Because of the high content of Cr2O3 and its binding to corundum matrix, it is called chromium corundum. Chromium corundum has to go through high temperature smelting above 2000°C in the production process, and its composition is more uniform because of its good thermal stability and high temperature chemical stability.

The high density of chromium corundum is one of the key factors to improve the lining life. After melting, the porosity of the solidified chromium corundum block is small, so the key part of the furnace body is built of chromium corundum, and the gap of the brick is filled with chromium corundum powder and binder.
