The high temperature treatment of the refractory or castable used for production has good thermal shock stability and bending strength, but the price is higher than other alumina. Tabular Alumina can be used as a main component in the aluminum-carbon, aluminum-magnesium-carbon, magnesium-aluminum-carbon, magnesium-spinel and aluminum-chromium refractory bricks, and can be introduced into the high-aluminum non-shaped refractory material as the rich aluminum oxide component, and can be widely applied to the industries of steel, casting, ceramics and the like, In which the application of steel industry almost covers the whole process of iron-making and steel making.

Main properties of Tabular Alumina
1. Fire resistance≥1800℃, melting point up to 2050℃.
2. The crystal structure of aAl2O3 with large crystal and good development greatly improves the creep resistance. .
3. Plate-like crystal structure, low porosity and low water absorption; There are many sealed pores inside, with good anti-thermal shock and anti-peeling performance.
4. Since no additives are added in the production process, the purity is high, the volume stability is good, and the re-burning shrinkage is very small.

Application of Tabular Alumina in Refractory

Sliding Nozzel
Good thermal shock stability and wear resistance are the preferred requirements for refractory raw materials for sliding gate. Tabular Alumina can meet the requirement.
At present, adding proper amount of graphite (or carbon black) and antioxidant as the basic material of aluminum-carbon sliding nozzle to the tabular alumina, or adding proper amount of zirconia, graphite (or carbon black) and antioxidant as the basic material of the tabular alumina, the aluminum-zirconium-carbon sliding nozzle is still the main material of the domestic sliding nozzle.

Ladle castable
With the continuous development of out-of-furnace refining technology, the application environment of refractories in ladle is becoming more and more demanding. Molten steel needs to stay longer in ladle for stirring, heating and erosion of different slag. The single material of ladle lining, such as magnesia or aluminum, has been replaced by composite material. Aluminum-magnesium spinel system castable with tabular alumina and spinel as the main material is used to wrap the bottom or wall, and magnesia-carbon brick is used in slag line, which is the basic mode of large and medium-sized ladle refractories at present.

Prefabricated Parts
Prefabricated parts, such as breathable brick, base brick, spray gun, impact plate and so on, are not only part of ladle refractory lining, but also play a very important role in steelmaking process itself. The composite use of tabular alumina, spinel and other refractory raw materials can improve the thermodynamic properties of refractories more effectively, that is, improve wear resistance and corrosion resistance.
